SASKATOON GOLDFINS DEFEND THEIR SENIOR PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AT THE 2023 WINTER MAN/SK CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club was successful in defending their Senior Provincial Man/SK Championship title at the 2023 Winter Man/SK Championships – March 2 – 5, 2023 – Saskatoon, SK. The Goldfins scored 6217.5 points, clinching Saskatchewan’s Top Large Club Award and the Man/SK Overall Top Large Club Award, scoring 6217.5 points
Goldfins posted numerous qualifying times for upcoming National, Regional, and Provincial competitions. Bryce Tierney posted his 2023 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials qualifying times in the 50M and in the 100M Breaststroke events. Bryce will compete in this national championships March 28 – April 2, 2023 – Toronto, ON.
The Goldfins added members to the Goldfins Western Championship team, bolstering Goldfins team members to now include eleven members. Sami Benning, Keiran Dyck, Abby Gebhardt, Ian Genest, Holden Lees, Isabel Magus, Rebeka Mourre, Obi Nguyen, Rhett Smith, Bryce Tierney and Siarhei Tsyrhanovich will travel to Calgary, AB – March 16 – 19, 2023 to compete in the 2023 Speedo Canadian Western Championships.
Keiran Dyck, Holden Lees, Rhett Smith and Bryce Tierney posted Canadian Junior Championships qualifying time standards. They will compete in this national event – August 1 – 6, 2023 – Toronto, ON.
The Goldfins Male 16 & O 200M Medley Relay broke a provincial record that had stood since 1991. A member of the 1991 record holding relay team, Jeff Toth - Head Coach - Flatland Swimming was on site to congratulate the Goldfins male team: Andrew Nghiem, Bryce Tierney, Ian Genest and Obi Nguyen.
