Our Knights attended the Richmond Fastswim for the last meet of 2021. This meet gave our provincial and divisional qualifiers in Youth Performance, Junior Performance and High Performance Red the opportunity to race heats and finals to finish out the year. We had over 60 swimmers participate in our last day of swimming development race night! Both sessions ran successfully with the help of our parent volunteers. The coaches were pleasantly surprised with the amount of progress the swimmers have made from our November race night. The Mini-knights and Bronze groups kicked off the night with some speedy 50m races. Many brave swimmers even started the race with a dive off the big blocks! This year's OJI swim meet was smaller in numbers (due to covid) from previous years, however lots of great performance were obtained from the swimmers in attendance. With 64 teams and approx 220 swimmers participating, the meet was a great test run for SKSC swimmers that attended for travel and hotel protocols during covid. Spartan LMR Meet A small contingent of Knights made the trek out to Chilliwack for the Spartan LMR this past weekend. The coaches were pleased overall with the performances of those swimmers who committed to the meet. A big thank you to the parents and families for supporting their swimmers to attend this event! Congratulations to the 8 swimmers that attended the VPSC Winter Invitational swim meet this past weekend. This event, which took place at the UBC Aquatic Centre, featured some of the top age group swimmers in Western Canada. Our own swimmers achieved a great many best times throughout the weekend and each of them participated in at least one finals swim.
