Description (Designed for ages 8 to 11)

The last level in the PASS system, these swimmers are working on refining the basic legal strokes and turns they have learned in the silver group. This group is at the FUNdamental/Learning to Train Stage in the Long Term Athlete Development model (LTAD). Swimmers in the group have achieved, or are able to achieve the LMR standards within the season and demonstrate a willingness to excel at the LMR level.

  • Graduation from Silver Group
  • Attend a PASS Meet
  • Complete 200IM under 4:30 and 200 free under 4:00 legally
  • Perform all 4 strokes legally and perform legal turns
  • Understand lane etiquette and pace clock


  • Have Fun!
  • Work on refining all 4 strokes, starts and turns
  • Follow basic competitive rules all the time
  • Establish regular attendance habits 
  • Attend PASS level competitions and qualify for LMR competitions
  • Aim for LMR standard of 4:00 200IM 

Swimmer Expectations

  • Strive to attend all workouts, when they're not there, they're not learning!
  • Arrive 5 minutes before dryland starts so you can start on time
  • Bring a water bottle to every workout
  • Participate at “Round Table Club Meets” and other club events or functions
  • Successfully attend and participate in at least 3 PASS level competition
  • Treat others with respect and care
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Adhere to Athlete Code of Conduct

Parent Expectations

  • Arrange to get your swimmer to practices and events on time (5 minutes early)
  • Contact your coach if your swimmer is going to miss workout
  • If watching workout or a swim meet, to stay in the viewing areas and remain off the pool deck or out of appropriate areas
  • Contact your coach directly and without delays if you have any concerns regarding your swimmer and their training
  • Stay up-to-date with club news via hand-outs, emails, website, bulletin boards and/or communication with coaches and board
  • Ensure all fees are paid on time and account is in order
  • Parent Participation Points: help out at SKSC club functions, hosted events, timing at PASS meets, etc...
  • Treat other parents, athletes and coaches with respect
  • Have a positive attitude and do not engage in negative gossip in the bleachers with other parents
  • Adhere to Parent Code of Conduct

Graduation Guidelines into next group

  • Achieved LMR standards and able to train at the higher level
    • Must have attended at least 1 LMR competition
    • Gold/LMR Standard at PASS level (under 4:00min 200IM)
  • Recommended 85% attendance to ensure swimmer is ready for next level
  • Successful two week trial period
  • Please note: Meeting performance standards does not guarantee/disqualify any potential move up.  Invites to move-up are at the discretion of coaches.  Other factors included in consideration are maturation, workout quality, attitude, health, training space, group cohesion, and  training ability
