Description (Designed for ages 14 and over)

Swimmers in this group are on track to achieve 15 & older provincial standards and are striving to compete at provincial level or higher.  Swimmers are at theTrain to Train stage of the Long Term Athlete Development Model (LTAD).  Swimmers in the group are  very committed to the program and are focusing on refining their complimentary skills necessary for long term participation in swimming developed in earlier groups.

Schedule

Prerequisite

  • 14 years old or older
  • Committed to self improvement, striving for excellence
  • On track or have achieve 15 & older Provincial standards

Goals    

  • Enjoy swimming
  • Strive to attend all workouts
  • Attend all competitions as recommended by coach
  • Adopt and refine complimentary skills such as nutrition, goal setting, etc... on a consistent basis
  • Become “students” of the sport
  • Aim for Provincial, and or national standards
  • Final provincial meets
  • Volunteer and be a role model with younger swimmers (1 hour/month)

Swimmer Expectations

  • Maintain 90% attendance or better
  • Arrive 5 minutes before practice starts so you can start on time
  • Communicate with coach regarding missed workouts and training questions/concerns
  •  Bring a water bottle to every workout
  • Participate at “Round Table Club Meets” and other club events or functions
  • Volunteer with younger swimmers (1 hour/month)
  • Treat others with respect and care
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Adhere to Athlete Code of Conduct
 

Parent Expectations

  • Arrange to get your swimmer to practices and events on time
  • Contact your coach if your swimmer is going to miss workout
  • If watching workout or a swim meet, to stay in the viewing areas and remain off the pool deck or out of appropriate areas
  • Contact your coach directly if you have any concerns regarding your swimmer and their training
  • Stay up-to-date with club news via hand-outs, emails, website, bulletin boards and/or communication with coaches and board
  • Ensure all fees are paid on time and account is in order
  • Parent Participation Points: help out at SKSC club functions, hosted events, timing at PASS meets, etc...
  • Treat other parents, athletes and coaches with respect
  • Have a positive attitude and do not engage in negative gossip in the bleachers with other parents
  • Adhere to Parent Code of Conduct
 

Graduation Guideline to move into High Performance Black      

  • Must be 15 or older
  • On track to achieve Junior or Western National time within a SC or LC season
  • 95% attendance
  • Must be committed to attend all meets that they qualify (selected) for as posted on SKSC website
  • Must be committed to swimming in July
  • Maturity and training ability to handle senior level programming
  • Please note: Meeting performance standards does not guarantee/disqualify any potential move up.  Invites to move-up are at the discretion of coaches.  Other factors included in consideration are maturation, workout quality, attitude, health, training space, and training ability
