Description (Designed for swimmers with a disability)

This is our entry level group for swimmers with a disability joining the swim club.  This group engages the Long Term Athlete Development Model at the FUNdamental stage with an emphasis on Water Safety. Swimmers entering at this level have need to be comfortable in water 4' deep and be able to work in small groups. All potential swimmers seeking to enter this group must meet with the coaching staff prior to registration.

Schedule discussed with coaches

    -  Screening with coaching staff
    -  Able to remain in 4' water without assistance
    -  Independently mobile on deck and in changerooms


    -  Have Fun! 
    -  Become Water Safe
    -  Learn the basic technique of all 4 competitive strokes
    -  Establish regular attendance habits
Swimmer Expectations 
    -  Strive to attend all workouts 
    -  Arrive 5 minutes before practice starts so you can start on time 
    -  Bring a water bottle to every workout 
    -  Participate at “Round Table Club Meets” and other club events or functions 
    -  Successfully attend and participate in at least 1 PASS level competition 
    -  Treat others with respect and care 
    -  Have a positive attitude  
    -  Adhere to Athlete Code of Conduct 
Parent Expectations 
    -  Arrange to get your swimmer to practices and events on time 
    -  Contact your coach if your swimmer is going to miss workout  
    -  Contact your coach directly if you have any concerns regarding your swimmer and their training 
    -  Stay up-to-date with club news via hand-outs, emails, website, bulletin boards and/or
             communication with coaches and board 
    -  Ensure all fees are paid on time and account is in order 
    -  Parent Participation Points: help out at SKSC club functions, hosted events, timing at PASS meets, etc... 
    -  Treat other parents, athletes and coaches with respect 
    -  Have a positive attitude and do not engage in negative gossip in the bleachers with other parents 
    -  Adhere to Parent Code of Conduct
