Diana has been personally been involved in many sports, beginning with synchronized swimming at age 4, before jumping over to competitive age group swimming from age 12-18. Over the past 4 years she made sprint paddling her main sport while continuing to swim as cross-training as well as coaching for Swim Ottawa! In her swimming days, she competed at OFSAA with her high school swim team, and her favourite memories include racing relays with her closest friends. When asked, Diana commented that, “she’s always loved being in the water or on the pool deck and couldn’t find a better way to keep doing what I liked than to coach and I look forward to coaching your kids in the water!” Outside of sports and coaching, Diana is in her third year at the University of Ottawa majoring in Anthropology with a minor in Leisure Studies.

Her fondest memory from competitive swimming was when “I put on the whole tracksuit…shirt, pants, sweater and jacket, and I was so happy to have all my SWOTT gear and felt so professional…but I was only 10!”  Throughout high school, Taylor has been involved with field hockey, rugby, touch football, and badminton. She is entering her 4th year of coaching with Swim Ottawa and is currently studying human kinetics at the University of Ottawa

Sophie started her swimming career in the Swim Ottawa pre-comp program back in 2006 and kept at the sport for 11 years! Looking back over that time, her favourite memory was when she swam a 200 IM at a meet where she had lapped her competitors and turned to see her teammates all cheering for her, not only because she won, but that she reached her goal of making a regional time for the first time! Sophie has been busy outside of swimming through her involvement with skiing, canoeing, rugby and ultimate Frisbee! Currently she is a grade 12 student and finishing up her her first year coaching, with her future sites on attending McGill University next fall in the STEM field.

Phoebe began swimming in her formative years with another program and finished up 5 years with the Swim Ottawa program. Her favourite memories was a swim meet in Deep River because of the all the time spent on the deck with teammates and cheering, encouraging each other to do their best and keeping it fun! Phoebe currently plays competitive soccer and also used to compete in gymnastics but still love being around the pool and sometimes hop in to swim with the Masters group. She will be starting University next fall and wants to study Biology or Life Sciences at either the University of Toronto or McGill.
