SWIM MEET OFFICIATING
It takes our whole swim community to host a swim meet. For example, approximately 80 volunteers are needed for a single session
and our meets typically have between 3-9 sessions. It is also the best view of the pool and a great way to learn about competition.
Alternatives to officiating positions include selling programs, speeding ticket table, hospitality, and selling t-shirts & hoodies.
2021 Dates: October 9, November 12-13, December 4
2022 Dates: January 28-30, May 27-29
Competitive Swimmers: Mandatory
Pre-Competitive Swimmers: We encourage and appreciate your participation
Requirements: Families of competitive swimmers must have at least one member complete the Introduction to Swimming Clinic in
order to officiate at meets. Competitive families with a swimmer 12&under are required to work 8 sessions at a Thunderbolts hosted
meet throughout the year. Competitive families with a swimmer 13&over are required to work 10 sessions at a Thunderbolts hosted
meet throughout the year. Please speak with a Board member to make arrangements if you are unable to fulfill this obligation.
Deadline: Please sign up for volunteer/officiating positions 4 weeks prior to each swim meet (specific dates will be shared closer to
the meets) or make alternative arrangements by speaking with a board member in order for your swimmer to be eligible to swim in
each meet.

There will be various other fundraisers throughout the year which families are encouraged to participate in.
Keep an eye out for things to come as we celebrate the 50th ANNIVERSARY of the THUNDERBOLTS starting in January (50/50 draw
etc...)
