It was a massive group of 68 swimmers that travelled to Victoria BC for the Island Medley Challenge last weekend! After a smooth landing and a bus ride down to the inner harbour, the swimmers had a great time exploring the city and grabbing some breakfast before racing in the afternoon.

The meet started off with our distance events where Kealeigh McLeod set the tone by achieving her first ever Western Canadian standard in the 1500Free! We had terrific performances from our other distance swimmers as well before everyone got into racing with some fast 50’s! Friday evening ended high on team spirit with the Dino crew getting behind our swimmers who participated in the medley eliminator!

The athletes persevered through long sessions on Saturday and Sunday and still managed to end the weekend with a ton of best times. Many swimmers also added new events to their Champs and Provincial qualifying times! Congratulations to Sonia Bakshi and Rachel Wigginton for qualifying themselves for Alberta Champs for the first time this season! We also had Addyson Bymoen, Abtin Hozouri and Maxim Grygoryev qualify for Alberta Provincials. Way to go Dinos!

Lots of great memories were made at this meet and the coaches hope to see more fast racing as we come into June!
