The final day of Olympic Trials was filled with excitement and a little bit of sadness as we watched the final races of some of our senior swimmers. Ella Varga brought the heat in Women's 200Back, finishing the final in 5th with a huge best time of 2:11.95. Way to go Ella! Men's 200Back had both Richie Stokes and Rob Hill competing in the event. Stokes popped under the 2 minute mark for the first time in prelims and continued this trend into finals, ending with a 3rd place podium...

Day four of Trials: Stephen Calkins snuck under the 50 second mark for the first time in his 100Free prelims race. He ended the evening with an exciting sixth place finish tucking it under the 50 second mark again for a final time of 49.88. Matt Ketchin competed in the Men's 200Breast, finishing 12th overall with a personal best time of 2:20.94. It was a great first event for him as he sets up for the 400IM tomorrow. The highlight of our third day at Trials was without a doubt Rob Hill's 200IM. Hill raced his way to a tight fourth place finish in the race ending with a faster time than his prelims session at 2:01.98 Brian Palaschuk also competed in the Men's 200IM final (his third finals performance of the meet), working his way from 9th to 8th and finishing with a time of 2:03.82. In her third race of the weekend as well, we had Allison McCloy compete in the Women's 800Free, swimming her way...

Day two consisted of both 200Free and 100Breast. Peter Brothers again brought the heat, claiming first place in Men's 200Free in a best time of 1:49.07. We also had Brian Palaschuk race the event finishing in 10th in the Final with his best time being from the Prelims session - 1:52.81. In Women's 200Free, we had both Allison McCloy and Marit Anderson who finished in 18th and 19th with times of 2:07.15 and 2:08.86 respectively. Our final race of the evening was Alica L'Archeveque who made her first Olympic Trials...

It was an exciting first day at Olympic Trials with the biggest highlight being the 1st place finish of Peter Brothers in 400Free in a personal best time of 3:49.35. Fun fact - Peter's time was the fastest 400Free swam in Canada since 2017. Way to go! Other highlights of the day: Stephen Calkins raced his way to a best time and 5th place Finals finish in Men's 100Fly ending with a time of 53.88.
