Cross Trainer Program 2019-2020

Program Description

The Cross training program provides an alternative training program for swimmers who are not interested in going to competitions.  Prolong longevity in the club & the sport of swimming.  Promote a healthy active lifestyle.  The program offers access to supplementary training, stroke, and skill education. Swimmers may swim twice per week with the specific practice times chosen from the schedule below and in consultation with the Head Coach.

Please note that all swimmers in this program are required by the Brockville and Area YMCA to be full Y members in order to access the Facility. YMCA Memberships can be purchased at the front desk of the Brockville and Area Y.

 

Competition Requirements: None

Equipment Requirements: Fins, Goggles, Bathing Cap, Pull Buoy, Snorkel (as needed)

Weeks per session: 12

Sessions per year: 3

*There will be no swimming for non-competitive programs during the 1st week of Christmas Break and the March Break.

Fees

 

Governing Body Fee:                                                 $52.55   *This is a one time fee per season.

Registration in this program involves consultation with the Head Coach.  The swimmer will be registered for 2 swims a week and the coach will ensure that the right level is chosen and that there is space for the swimmer in the pool.

In the 2019-2020 season we will also be adding a Cross Plus program which allows those swimmers at the Gold level or above to swim 3 times per week with the emphasis on health and fitness. Please email headcoach@riverotters.ca if you have questions about this program.
