This structure is To Be Determined and will be created as part of the Return To Training Guidelines as set out by Swimming Canada.
GROUP STRUCTURE

Once pre-covid allowable training parameters are back in place, we look forward to returning to the following:
Elite
-
Swimmers aged 15 and over at the winter championships

Selected swimmers who demonstrate the ability to train with a goal to perform at peak meets (CR A, Ontario Youth Junior Championships, Ontario Swimming Championships and/or Nationals)

Must sign and respect a contract (also signed by the coach and the parents) stating the expectations (commitment, meets, attendance, etc.).
Junior Elite

Swimmers aged 12-14 at the winter championships

Selected swimmers who demonstrate the ability to train with a goal to perform at peak meets (CR A, Festivals, Ontario Youth Juniors)

SENIOR

Swimmers aged 14 and over at the winter championships

Selected swimmers who demonstrate the ability to train with a goal to perform at peak meets (CR B, CR C)
Top Age Group A

Swimmers aged 12-13 at the Winter Championships

Selected swimmers who demonstrate the ability to train with a goal to perform at peak meets (CR B, CR A, Festivals)
Top Age Group B

Swimmers ages 12-14 at the winter championships

Selected swimmers who demonstrate the ability to train with a goal to perform at peak meets (invitational and regional meets)
Junior Age Group A

Swimmers aged 9-11 at the winter championships

Swimmers will compete at invitational, regional and Festival meets
Junior Age Group B

Swimmers aged 9-11 at the winter championships

Intro
- Swimmers aged 11 and under
- swimmers will compete at local invitational meets
Varsity
- Engaged in a competitive varsity program during the season
- Must meet the requirements of Elite
- Must represent Whitby Swimming at Provincial and National level meets
- Training with Whitby Swimming for more than 10% of the year
Affiliated
- Engaged in a supported competitive program
- Must meet the requirements of Elite
- Must represent Whitby Swimming at Provincial and National level meets
- Training with Whitby Swimming for less than 10% of the year
MASTERS
The masters program is for swimmers aged 18 and older. Fees are $60 per month plus a once per season Swimming Canada registration of $55. There are four practices offered per week: Monday, Tuesday, Friday mornings (5:15-7:00am) at Anne Ottenbrite Pool (Iroquois) and Thursday morning (5:15-7:00am) at Toronto Pan Am Sports Center (50m pool). Members attend as many practices per week as they choose. Competitions are optional.
