ORCA Swim Lessons and Recreational Teams

Swim Lessons, recreational swim teams and water polo teams are offered through ORCA in partnership with the City Orange. Since 2002 ORCA has provided a wide range of swim classes and lessons for all levels of swimmers. Our program is designed to help students thrive and become competent swimmers while offering a convenient, family-friendly structure for parents.  ORCA is affiliated with USA Swimming and offers recreational swim and water polo teams.

We predominantly serve the City of Orange, Villa Park and adjoining communities.

There will be four Summer Sessions that run for two weeks each conducted from June 12 - August 3 at Villa Park High School.  Classes meet Monday through Thursday and are 25 minute sessions.  Sessions are scheduled between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and reservation system is first come, first served. 

Two types of classes are available: semi-private classes include four students to a single instructor.  Semi-Private classes will be cancelled prior to the start date of the session if there is insufficient enrollment; that is, if fewer than four children enroll in the class.  You may be offered an alternate time via email, but only if there are other open classes. 

Private lessons are one-on-one.  Please register your child early!  Private classes are more expensive, but they go forward with your enrollment and the sole focus of the class is on your child.  More classes may be added if instructors are available, so please utilize the waiting list or check back.  Your child will need: footwear, a swimsuit, swim goggles and a cap.  Please bring a towel.  Flotation devices are not permitted in the pool. 

Sessions for Summer 2023 will run as follows:

Summer Session 1: June 12 - June 22

Summer Session 2: June 26 - July 6 (no classes on July 4)  

Summer Session 3:  July 10 - July 20

Summer Session 4:  July 24 - August 3

PLEASE NOTE: MAKE-UP LESSONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. 

ALL LESSONS MUST BE PAID FOR BY CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD THROUGH THE ORCA-TEAM UNIFY SITE.

A $50 cancellation charge is deducted from refunds requested prior to the first day of Session One.  After Session One begins, no refunds of any amount are available.

About our Swim Instructors

Our highly trained instructors and coaches are all lifeguard certified with extensive swimming backgrounds.   We strive to make programs both fun and challenging to all levels of swimmers: beginners to advanced.

Lesson Registration:

Through our online registration platform, you can register for our swimming lessons.  The registration process is simple for both new and returning families.  You can pay by credit or debit card. 

Using the online registration process, you can also access your private account which enables you to view current and past class histories.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click on one of the tabs below the video for the type of class you are looking for; Semi-Private (4:1) or Private (1:1).
  2. In the Session Filter, select the Session in which you would like to enroll your child.
  3. In the Class Filter, select the Class Level you are looking for; Levels 1-5/6 are available as semi-private or private lessons.  
  4. Click on the green Register button to register for the chosen Session, Class Level, type, and time you have chosen.

Swim Lesson and Team Requirements:

Lessons:  Requirements vary by student ability. Lessons are available for beginners through competent swimmers.  Levels 1 - 5/6 are available as semi-private (maximum 4 students per instructor) and private (a single student with one instructor) lessons.

Please read level information carefully when choosing the appropriate lesson level for your child.  If you have any doubt about your child's ability level, choose the level below the one you are considering.

ORCA Summer Swim Team

Summer Swim Team will run from June 12 through July 27 and practice Monday through Thursday from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Villa Park High School.  Cost for Swim Team is $185.

ORCA Summer Water Polo Team

Summer Water Polo Team will run July 3 - July 27 and practice Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Villa Park High School.  Cost for Water Polo Team  is $125.
