To reiterate what was stated in my speech—the health of the team, as well as my relationship with Head Coach and Founding Partner Chris Dahowski, could not be stronger. Following a decade of tremendous growth and success, it was time to turn the page on this...

PASEO AQUATICS NEWS & NOTES August 2022 LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT On Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at 6:00pm, Paseo Aquatics will hold its first Swim Team Banquet in over three years. Covid forced us to shut down what was once a highlight to our swim calendar; a once-a-year festivity that brought every swimmer, group, coach, volunteer, staffer and family member together for an evening of celebration, awards and indelible memories captured in our year-in video. The Paseo Aquatics Banquet has always been a celebratory culmination of the rigorous, challenging and...

PASEO AQUATICS NEWS & NOTES July 2022 LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT Unity. “The state or fact or being combined into one, as of the parts of a whole.” Swimming has long been deemed an individual sport. Save a relay at the end of a meet, every other aspect of training and competition comes down to the swimmer, their dedication day-in and day-out and their ability to pull it all together on race day. How does unity even come into play with a sport so defined by Personal Bests and singularity?...

PASEO AQUATICS NEWS & NOTES June 2022 LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT Amidst the turmoil and recent headlines emblazoned across the news, we are reminded how critically important child-safety remains—and the level of trust you have bestowed upon us at Paseo Aquatics, as coaches and supervisors of your children—our swimmers—the club’s most coveted asset. The SafeSport badge Paseo Aquatics proudly brandishes is one earned and retained year after year with a commitment to SafeSport practices and training. The program, built in 2017 by the United States Olympic Committee as a wholly...

PASEO AQUATICS NEWS & NOTES May 2022 LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT Here we are… May 2022. The end of eight, highly competitive Short Course months, and the start of an arduous Long Course season. The transition is never easy and often times daunting—perhaps more so psychologically than anything else. A 50 meter pool appears endless, with a wall and touch-pad barely visible. Remember—a 50 meter pool equals 55 yards. Those additional 5 yards mean different times, different methods to training and a different approach to racing. Adapting from yards to...

PASEO AQUATICS NEWS & NOTES April 2022 LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT It’s 2022—an entire year’s worth of possibilities waiting to be realized. Resolutions are made and often shattered in one way or another within a few weeks. But with each new year comes hope—and the prospect of goals successfully achieved. Each year represents an opportunity to start anew—and what better way than setting fresh swim goals and forming new habits. At Paseo Aquatics, we believe in “stacking our habits.” It takes roughly sixty-six days for a habit or trait to...

It with great pleasure to announce to the team 3 athletes that have been selected to USA SWIMMING SCHOLASTIC ALL-AMERICAN TEAM. To be selected to this team it means the athletes have reached a very high level of swimming standards while maintaining a GPA OF 3.5 or higher. The selection process is all handled by USA Swimming once the application is turned in. Being involved in sports creates a do or die mentality when it comes to time management. Managing time for academics, social life and family life to not...
