Age: Ideally 9-12 years old

Practice Days: 5 practices, Monday - Friday, May have Saturday practice

Description: This group is designed for swimmers ages 9-12 who can swim all four competitive strokes with a basic level of competency (legal racing technique). Emphasis will be put on technique for competitive strokes, as well as the corresponding starts and turns. Swimmers will also learn specific skills to help with their development, working with teammates, and having Fun are still a part of the curriculum. 

  • Although this group is primarily technique based, practices will also consist of various training sets to help the swimmers develop endurance and speed. Dryland will also be introduced to these groups.
  • Swimmers must be able to comfortably complete 50 yards of both freestyle and backstroke, and 25 yards of breaststroke and butterfly. 

Swimmer Expectations: This group does not have an attendance requirement, but swimmers should try to attend at least three-four practices a week.  Swimmers should plan to attend swim meets/competitions regularly, based on the coaches recommendations.

Equipment: Swimmers need to have a pair of Fins and a pull bouy at practice each day.
