Desert Championships - Day Two

Day two kicked off with the fun of Medley relays!

Our girls Open medley relay team of Stephanie Mills, Jordan Clarke, Hannah Paine and Sonya Lyubyh finished fourth with a time of 2:04.65. We had two teams for the 13-14 and 10 & under boys. Our 13-14 A team of Nicholas Diaconescu, Thais Tokay, Yushi Kono and Toby Esposito were 4th in a time of 1:50.28. Our B team of Arris Tokay, Julian Gauclain, Chase Paine and Daniel Barlow finished 6th in a time of 1:59.23.

Our 10 & under A team of Heath Turk, Shoma Kono, Asher Howard and Cooper McCullough finished third in a time of 2:34.54 while our B team of Jace Clarke, Harrison Andrada, Tucker McCullough and Daniel Nolan were 8th in a time of 3:22.72.

In the 200 freestyle, Momo Utsumi was 7th in the Open event, finishing in 2:01.36. Toby Esposito won the 13-14 boys 200 free with a new best time of 1:49.82, and Julian Gauclain was 7th with a new best time of 1:58.21.

Michelle Stana was 8th in the 11-12 girls 200 free, with a new best time of 2:20.18. Ryder McCullough was 8th in the boys 11-12 200 free with a new best time of 2:15.30. Logan Turk also placed in the event at 14th with an impressive 6 second drop to 2:29.19.

In the 100 butterfly, Momo Utsumi placed 5th in the girls Open event at 59.99. Keanu Lee was second in the boys Open 100 fly at 50.60. For the 13-14 boys, Yushi Kono placed 7th at 58.99, and in the 10 & under division Shoma Kono was 4th at 1:24.03 while Cooper McCullough was 5th at 1:36.48.

In the 200 breaststroke, Jordan Clarke was 4th at 2:29.05 while Hannah Paine was 6th at 2:43.76, while Elijah Wyett was 6th in the boys event at 2:17.23. In the boys 11-14 event Julian Gauclain was 4th at 2:25.90.

Issac Ko was 5th in the 11-12 boys 50 breaststroke at 39.16, and Shoma Kono was 3rd in the 10 & under 50 breaststroke with a time of 41.51.

In the 100 backstroke, Charlotte Berndt was 3rd in the girls Open event at 59.11, and Elijah Wyett was 6th in the boys Open event at 57.51.

Toby Esposito was first in the 13-14 boys 100 backstroke at 58.05, while Yushi Kono was 5th at 1:00.92 and Thais Tokay was 6th at 1:03.03.

Ryder McCullough was 8th in the 11-12 boys 100 backstroke with a new best time of 1:13.03.

And the day wrapped up with the 400 IM. Alice Ciobanu was second in the 15 and over event, finishing in 4:30.76. Keanu Lee was also second in the boys event at 4:04.07. For the 11-14 year old boys, Arris Tokay was 5th at 4:40.24 and Nicolas Dianconescu was 7th at 4:45.48.
