Desert Championships - Day 3

The final day of competition kicked off with the 200 IM.

In the 10 & under event, Asher Howard placed 4th with a new best time of 2:50.39, and Shoma Kono was 5th also with a new best time of 2:56.02.

For the 13-14 age group, Stephanie Mills was 5th and had a new best time of 2:21.67, a drop of over 5 seconds. For 13-14 boys we held 4 of the top 8 spots, with Toby Esposito coming in 3rd at 2:06.24, Thais Tokay 5th at 2:10.66, Arris Tokay 6th at 2:11.31 and Julian Gauclain was 8th at 2:15.26, new best times for all 4 boys,

In the Open division, Jordan Clarke was 6th for the girls at 2:17.40, and Keanu Lee was second in the boys' event at 1:54.81.

Next up was the 50 freestyle. In the girls Open event TRA took both of the top spots, with Madeleine Hebert winning in 23.42, and Helen Yee finishing second in 23.97 a new lifetime best time for our 31 year old swimmer! Charlotte Berndt was 6th at 25.50.

Thais Tokay and Julian Gauclain finaled for the 13-14 boys, with Thais finishing 7th at 25.31 and Julian 8th at 25.47.

In the 10 & under 50 butterfly we had 3 top 8 finishers with Asher Howard placing third at 33.62, Shoma Kono finishing 7th at 38.45 and Cooper McCullough finishing 8th at 40.34.

The bigger kids swam the 200 fly, with Yushi Kono placing 4th in the 11-14 event at 2:15.37. Alice Ciobanu won the girls Open event at 2:06.67 and Momo Utsumi placed 5th at 2:12.31. For the boys, Keanu Lee was 3rd at 1:51.65.

And we finished the meet with the 500 freestyle. Toby Esposito was second in the 11-14 boys 500 at 4:57.60, a new lifetime best time. Nicholas Diaconescu was 7th at 5:20.49. Troy Valovinos was 4th in the Open boys 500 at 4:51.87.
