Jamie Alexander Qualifies for CIF

Sherry Mueller

Jamie Alexander, who is on our Gold team, just qualified for the CIF Southern Section playoffs with an Auto time of 25.38 in the 50 Free.  Jamie also swims for Cajon HS and they swam against Redlands this past week.  Besides qualifying for CIF and winning her event, she also broke the 50 year old school record!

For those who haven’t experienced high school swimming yet, it’s a really big deal to qualify for CIF.  CIF qualifiers also get to wear a CIF patch on their school jacket/sweater!

BTW.  CIF stands for California Interscholastic Federation.  Where USA Swimming governs all club swimmers, CIF governs all junior and high school sports.

Congratulations also to our Gold Coach, Coach Trevor, and our Strength training Coach, Coach Randy.  Without a doubt this training helped Jamie to achieve a record breaking personal best.   We know they are as thrilled and excited as our team is to have coached a swimmer to CIF's.

Again, Congratulations to Jamie for her CIF cut and we will be cheering for her as she competes in the Section Championships at the end of May.
