Meet Rising Star Regina Estrada-Maravilla

Sherry Mueller

Regina Estrada-Maravilla is a member of the Bronze Elite roster group and has been swimming since she was seven.  This past March Regina traveled to Yuma for the 2021 Southwest Territorial Spring Classic where she dropped an astounding -37.95 seconds and picked up Blue times for her 50 Free, 100 Free, 50 Back, 100 Back, 50 Fly, 100 IM and 200 IM.   Currently all those times are also JAG qualifying times for 7-10.  However, Regina will be 11 before the meet and just misses the 11-12 JAG qualifying times. There is talk about revising the JAG time standards (JAG is a very fast meet) because of COVID so we will wait and see what happens. She just might make the cut.

Regina also holds team records for 7-10:

  • 50 Free 32.10
  • 100 Free 1:10.02
  • 50 Back  38.48
  • 100 Back 1:20.24
  • 50 Fly  37.64
  • 100 Fly  1:38.86
  • 100 IM  1:24.57
  • 200 IM  2:53.71

Regina is one of our Rising Stars.  We can’t wait for the swim season to get started so we can watch her shine!
