Mark Bennett Head Coach / Program Manager

Background:  I grew up swimming with Santa Maria Swim Club, then moved on to swimming at University of Nebraska.  National level swimmer and Division 1 NCAA All-American while at UNL.  Bachelors of Arts in English from University of Nebraska.  Teaching Credential earned at Cal Poly SLO.

Coaching:  I've coached for 5 different teams, including stops on the Central Coast, Virginia, Oregon, and coaching for Clovis Swim Club since 2013.  During that time, I have coached LSC Team and Individual Champions and record holders, National Top 10 swimmers, National and Olympic Trials qualifiers, also including a few #1 ranked age group swimmers and a National Age Group Record Holder.

Personal/Hobbies:  Travelling, hiking, fishing, and spending time with my wife, two kids, and dogs.

Background:   I graduated from high school in 1967. I completed 1.5 yrs of college at Reedley college.

Coaching and Teaching:   I’ve been coaching for more than 50 yrs. I’ve coached summer rec league for 25 yrs in both Selma and Kingsburg. I coached Immanuel High School for 26 yrs.. I’ve coached club swimming for 42 yrs in Selma for RCA/TNT

Personal:   I’ve enjoyed bowling, fishing, scuba diving, golfing, going to concerts

Brian Sharar Senior Coach, Clovis East

Background:   I received my BS from Ball State University and my MA from University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. I have been a head coach at the USA club, high school and Division I college levels over my career.

Coaching and teaching:   I have worked as a Head Coach at Western Illinois University and the University of Toledo. I also was an assistant coach at the University of north Carolina at Chapel Hill and have been a Physical Education Teacher and the Head Swimming Coach at Clovis East High School since 2007.

Personal:   Being an empty nester (3 kids done with college) my intersts are visiting them from time to time, mountain biking, fishing, playing golf but more often than not just floating in my pool by myself with loud hair band music disturbing the neighbors.

Background:   BFA in Graphic Design Swam for CSC for 8 years. Swam at Clovis West and University of the Pacific.

Coaching: I have been coaching for about 5 years now.

Personal:   I am currently working on my teaching credential for Physical Education.

Jillian Hatch Senior Silver

Background:   I grew up in Clovis and swam for Clovis swim club in high school. I went on to swim on the University of Florida Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Team.

Coaching:   I first started coaching a few years ago for Clovis’ Summer League and while away in Florida, I coached for Swim America. This past year I helped coached novice groups, advanced age groups and senior groups for Clovis Swim Club

Personal:   Outside of coaching, I am also a video producer at The Well Community Church. In my free time I like to go hiking and exploring

Tanner Davis Senior Bronze

Background:   Current Food Science student at FSU, swam 3 years at South Dakota State University, Clovis East High school 17+ years of swimming experience.

Coaching:   Coached for year round CSC for just over a year now, coached summer league for the past 3.

Personal:  I enjoy long strolls on mountains and hiking on beaches.

Kacy Ota Head Age Group Coach / Westside Adv Gold

Background:   I graduated from Fresno State with BA in Mass Communication and Journalism with an emphasis in Electronic Media Production. I swam for Raisin Country Aquatics in Selma, I ended up not swimming in college, as I began coaching while going to Reedley College and loved it.

Coaching and Teaching:   I have been coaching some level of swimming for over 25 years now. I have done almost everything from Learn to Swim, Age-Group, Senior Swimming, National level Swimmers, elementary school, high school, college, and Masters.

Personal:   Outside of swimming I enjoy sports, watching movies, and investing. I am a 49er, Lakers, Giants, and Fresno State Fan. I watch modern movies and old films as well.

Debra Wells East Side Advanced Age Group

Background:   I have over 25 years of coaching experience. I was Head Coach of the Agawam Piranhas and the Westfield Rapids in MA from 1995 to 2012. I taught swimming at Swim America from 2012-2016. I have been coaching with CSC since September 2016.

Coaching:   I joined a competitive swim team in the Bay Area at the age of 6. I lifeguarded and taught swimming all through high school. I coached two competitive swim teams while working for the Department of the Air Force as a Network Security Specialist.

Personal:   Outside of coaching, I love reading, DYI, baking and cooking. I hate mowing the lawn.

Blake Adams Westside Adv Silver

Background:   Graduated from Clovis North in 2011 and currently pursuing a degree in history from ASU. Swam competitively for recreation, club, and school programs in the Bay Area, Oregon, and Clovis since the age of 5.

Coaching: I have coached with Clovis swim club since the summer of 2016. Starting with the then Junior group and eventually becoming the prep track director. This will be my 3rd year with advanced age group and first at the silver group coach.

Personal:   I work for CUSD in the transitions department for the Clovis west area. When I’m not coaching or working I love to travel, read, write and eat good food! My favorite professional teams include the golden state warriors and the San Francisco 49ers.

Benjamin Evans Westside Adv Bronze

Background:   In 2020 I graduated from Wingate University with a Bachelors degree in Health and Physical Education. I swam at this institution for 4 years, as well as being a GB Olympic Trials swimmer in the 400m Freestyle and 400m Individual Medley.

Coaching:   Studying at Wingate University I took part in student teaching and field experience K-12 teaching Physical Education. With coaching swimming I worked coaching and teaching young athletes at the university and last year after graduating coached full time at Temecula Swim Club, coaching a 10&Under and 11-14 year old age groups with swimmers reaching th Junior Olympic level.

Personal:   My interests outside of swimming would be outdoor activities and sports. I enjoy camping, and watching Premier League soccer.

Alyssa Libang Westside Blue

Background:   Third year at Fresno State studying Public Health with an emphasis on Community Health. Also my third season on the Fresno State Swim and Dive team. Previously on club for 11 years.

Coaching: Second year coaching with Clovis Swim Club.

Personal: I enjoy hanging out with friends, going on walks with my dogs, and taking advantage of anytime to relax.

Olga Tovstogan Novice North and Westside White

Background:   I received my bachelor's in psychology in 2020, currently pursuing my master's in business. I participated in multiple international competitions, had an Olympic cut back in 2012, and was a member of the Ukrainian National Team. As a collegiate athlete, I am multiple PCSC Conference champion, twice PCSC Athlete of the Year, and was Top-3 NCAA D-II in 100 breast and Top-2 in the medley relay, multiple NCAA finalist.

Coaching:   Besides coaching at Clovis Swim club, I am a graduate assistant swim coach at Fresno Pacific University.

Personal: I love to self educate myself, I am particularly interested in cosmology. I am a huge music and cinematography fan as well as I enjoy literature.

Katie Amendt Novice North and Westside Red

Background:  I graduated from Buchanan High School in 2018, graduated from Clovis Community College in 2021, and am currently attending Fresno State. I started swimming in 8th grade and finished my swimming career this past spring semester at Community.

Coaching:  I’ve coached for our Summer League program for 5 years and this is the start of my 3rd year year round coaching.

Personal/Hobbies:  Outside of coaching, I’m normally working on school work or spending time with friends and family.

Nadia Dwidar-Margison Novice West

Background:   I graduated from Clovis West and swam for CSC throughout my junior high and high school swim career to which I went on to swim on scholarship at UCSB, finishing my senior year as the team co-captain. I was the assistant coach for the University of Redlands for two years and currently am one of the Westside Novice coaches, going into my second year.

Coaching:   I coached Novice and Masters at CSC for a year, along with coaching a season for Kastner Intermediate before leaving to obtain my master's degree at University of Redlands in 2010. While at Redlands, I was the assistant coach for the university for two years and currently am one of the Westside Novice coaches since a year ago.

Personal:   I love working out, whether it be lifting weights or running (shocking as a former swimmer, I know). Otherwise, I love spending time with my 4 year old son, our pets, and enjoying doing anything outdoors (we love the zoo!)

Torie Donis Novice West

Background:  I am currently at Fresno State finishing up with my Math major and teaching credential. I have swam and played polo since middle school up until I transferred to Fresno State from Cuesta Community College.

Coaching:  I have coached for Clovis Swim Club for about 4 years doing club, lessons and summer league. I have also coached for the Granite Ridge swim team.

Personal/Hobbies:  I like reading and spending time with my family.

Cienna Mayfield Novice North

Background:  I graduated from Clovis West and swam and played water polo all four years in high school. Now that I am in college I swim during my free time and love coaching!

Coaching: I have been coaching for almost three years now. I have coached swim and water polo.

Personal: I am currently going to school at Fresno Pacific University pursuing a degree in health care administration. I work at Sierra Pacific Orthopedics. In my free time I enjoy being outside, spending time with my family and friends, and I love to cook!

Brooklyn Wong Novice East and Eastside Developmental

Background:   I recently graduated high school and I am continuing my education at Clovis Community College. I did competitive swimming for Clovis Swim Club for six years.

Coaching: This is my First year coaching for Clovis Swim Club I started late January, and over the summer I coached summer league and taught lessons.

Personal: In my spare time I like to swim, spend time with my family and friends and bake.

Ruth Nelson Novice East and Eastside Prep

Background:   Graduated from Clovis High June 1st 2017 And one year over at Clovis Community College and swam and played waterpolo over at Clark, Clovis High and swam at Clovis Community College.

Coaching and Teaching:   I served at my church for several years with kids church, VSB, but this is my first time of coaching.

Personal:   Baking is one of my favorite things to do.

Camryn Phothavong Novice Alta and Westside Dev Prep

Background:   I am currently a senior at Buchanan High School and have been swimming for about 6 years now.

Coaching: This is my first year coaching, but I have previous experience from summer league and seahorse swim school.

Personal: My interests outside coaching include swimming and spending time with friends.

Jill Friesen Substitute Coach

Background:   I swam for TAC and then for my high school’s varsity swim team. I also am a lifeguard and CPR instructor for the American Red Cross.

Coaching:  I have been a coach for 4 years and helped kickstart a recreational league in my hometown.

Personl/Hobbies:  I am a student at Fresno State studying Animal Science and love to do anything involving animals and agriculture. I also love reading, biking, hiking, and going to the lake in my free time!
