Congratulations Coach Patty- All Southern Az HS Coach of the Year!
Coach Patty Olstad was named All-Southern Arizona Girls High School Swimming Coach of the Year 2013, by the Tucson Citizen. Patty coached the Rincon/University HS team to an undefeated season and placed exceptionally well at the HS Division I State Championships.
Brianna Leverenz led the team with a State DI championship win in the 500 yd freestyle event. Accompanied by Brianna in the finals at DI states was Eleora Bailey (our very own Gator Girl!). Eleora placed in finals in the 100 yd Breast Stroke and the 200 IM as well as the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Free Relay. Eleora was named Tucson Citizen's "Performer of the Year," as a freshman at University HS. Gator Girl, Catherine Malone, a Junior at University HS, was a member of the 400 Free Style Relay which placed 7th in the HS State Division 1 Championships.
Coach Patty has been the Head Coach for Girls Swimming at Rincon /University High Schools for the past 3 years. During that time the Ranger girls were 17 &1 with three State Championship appearances at the Division 1 level. Congratulations to Coach Patty and our Gator Girls, Eleora and Catherine!
