At Swim With Bill, we are dedicated professionals who are as passionate about competing and excelling in the sport we love as we are about passing on our knowledge to others. We are innovative and forward-thinking, using the latest in technology to push our sport forward, helping make swimmers of all levels more proficient and speeding up the learning curve.
Bill Schalz has been coaching and teaching swimming since 1981. After coaching for several years, Bill started the Swim With Bill lesson program and the Academy Bullets Swim Club.
His swimmers have competed at every level including World Championships and the Olympics. His teams have won multiple state championships and is the only Illinois coach to lead an Illinois club to a USA Swimming Junior National Championship.
Bill has served on the Board of Directors of Illinois Swimming, Inc. including four years as President, the USA Swimming Board of Directors and the American Swimming Coaches Association Right to Participate Task Force. He currently sits on the USA Swimming International Relations and was recently appointed to chair a USA Swimming Presidential task force. He has been a speaker multiple times at the ASCA World Clinic and was a guest lecturer at the European University of Madrid. He has also served has Head Coach of the USA Swimming National and Zone Select Camps.
Misty was a 4-year state finalist and varsity letter winner at Rosary High School. She continued her swimming career on a scholarship at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she was a Big 12 Finalist, All American, and Academic All American. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Misty is currently the program director of Swim With Bill, a coach at Rosary High School and also coaches the Academy Bullets Bronze Group.
