Group Lessons: Levels 1 - 10
The Clarence Learn-to-Swim offers year-round lessons for swimmers interested in learning the four competitive strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly). Lessons are open to children ages 4 years old and up. The Clarence Learn-to-Swim divides its lessons into 10 different levels, each focusing on a specific set of skills.
Adaptive: Dolphins: Water Safety, Sensory & Recreation is for swimmers who are just becoming comfortable with the water. These children are NOT able to swim independently and require 1:1 adult support in the water.
- Learning about safety in the water with the use of games, sensory, and play.
- Swimmers will learn some stroke basics- bubbles, kicking, arms, and light swimming, depending on their ability. Each class is tailored to each child's needs.
- Classes are held once each week for 30 mins.
- The typical age of swimmers in the Adaptive Dolphins Class is between the ages of 4 - 13 years old.
- Classes are approx. $16 per class* paid upfront. Classes run Fall (Sept-Nov), Winter (Jan-March), Spring (April-June), Summer (July-Aug roughly 4-5 weeks). Each session runs roughly 7-9 weeks, depending on school availability and calendar time.
Adaptive: Marlins Stroke Mechanics, is for swimmers who are able to float, tread water, and maintain balance in the water independently.
- Working on freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke as an individual's ability allows.
- Swimmers will use lanes, and will work from the shallow end of the pool to the deep end, as an individual is comfortable.
- These swimmers may have an interest in competing in the Special Olympics Aquatic Division.
- Classes are held up to twice each week for 30-45 minutes (as needed per swimmer).
- The typical age of swimmers in the Adaptive Marlins Class is for ages 14 and up.
- Classes are approx. $16 per class* paid upfront. Classes run Fall (Sept-Nov), Winter (Jan-March), Spring (April-June), Summer (July-Aug roughly 4-5 weeks). Each session runs roughly 7-9 weeks, depending on school availability and calendar time.
Adaptive: Competitive, is for swimmers who are looking to compete in higher competition.
- Working on advancing all four strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, diving off a block, and flip turns as an individual's ability allows.
- Swimmers will use lanes, and will work from the shallow end of the pool to the deep end. Swimmers will be swimming full laps in a small group in each lane. Roughly 4:1 swimmers to coaches.
- These swimmers may have an interest in competing in the Special Olympics Aquatic Division.
- Classes are held up to twice each week for 45 minutes.
- The typical age of swimmers in the Adaptive Marlins Class is for ages 10 and up.
- Classes are approx. $16 per class* paid upfront. Classes run Fall (Sept-Nov), Winter (Jan-March), Spring (April-June), Summer (July-Aug roughly 4-5 weeks). Each session runs roughly 7-9 weeks, depending on school availability and calendar time.

Parent & Child
Parent & Child Swim Program is for children between the ages of 2 – 4 years old. This class requires a parent to enter the water with their child and participate in each of the lesson's activities. The 30-minute class will introduce children to basic swimming skills and water safety through games, songs, and play. This lesson typically runs on Saturday mornings.
Classes are approx. $14 per class* paid upfront. Classes run Fall (Sept-Nov), Winter (Jan-March), Spring (April-June), Summer (July-Aug roughly 4-5 weeks). Each session runs roughly 7-9 weeks, depending on school availability and calendar time.
