Scott Cohen

After many years as an ACES Swim Club parent, Scott is excited about the opportunity to spend time on the pool deck as a coach.   He has served as the head swimming coach at Smoky Hill High School for the past 28 years.   Scott has been named the 5A Colorado High School Swimming Coach of the Year five times (1996, 2005, 2010, 2011, 2014).  He was the John Lynch Foundation Colorado Youth Coach of the Year in 2012 and was named the National High School Swimming Coach of the Year by the National Federation of High Schools in 2014.  Since 1997, Scott has coached 15 Colorado High School Swimmers of the Year, 25 Colorado High School State Champions, 127 National All-American performances, and 148 National Academic All-Americans.

Scott currently serves as the president of the Colorado High School Activities Association Swim Committee.  He lead Mullen High School to back-to-back state championships before coming to Smoky Hill, and he has coached the Piney Creek Heat in the Mountain Hi Swim League for the past 13 years.  Scott is married to Jennifer Cohen, a former Smoky Hill and Piney Creek coach.  Jennifer and Scott are the parents of Katie (17 years old) and Emily (14) - both ACES swimmers.

Scott serves as the Activities Director and Student Leadership teacher at Smoky Hill High School.   He is in charge of everything they make high school movies about - dances, parades, clubs, performing arts, awards nights and graduation.

He graduated from Cherry Creek High School, where his teams won four Colorado State Championships and one NISCA National Power Point Championship.  Scott attended Claremont McKenna College where he was a Division III All-American.
