Additional Costs
Other costs associated with the Swim Team are at the expense of the swimmer/family. Scholarship Options
The team has a limited number of scholarships for those whom the team fee may be a burden. Recipients of Scholarships will be required to work at any of the Team fund raising events such as the Swim Your Aspen Off fundraiser, etc. To apply for a scholarship, please go to the link "Scholarship Application".
Parent Volunteer Requirements
Home Meets: All parents are required to help during the team's two home meets. Jobs include timers, announcers, safety marshals, and hospitality positions; no previous experience is required for most jobs.
Swim Your Aspen Off: The swim team requires parent assistance for the team's annual fundraiser, "Swim Your Aspen Off" as lap counters. The fundraiser will occur during a regularly scheduled practice in late November or early December.
Officiating: The team needs more officials! Parents can choose which meets at which to officiate based on which meets their swimmers will attend. The team will provide training for all interested parents. If you are interested in becoming an official email, contact us!
Team Operating Costs
The Aspen Swim Club functions as a "doing business as" (dba) operation under the actual registered name of the Aspen Swim Club, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. Fees are paid to the Club on a seasonal basis. The Club, in turn, pays the Coaches' expenses, CSI Registration fees, pool time, and other team operating costs.
Other costs associated with the swim team are paid for from other raised funds. These funds are generated through grant requests and fund raisers carried out by swim team members. The funds are used to pay for items such as equipment purchases, social events, awards, etc.
