ABOUT THE COLORADO STARS
The Colorado STARS is a year-round, coach-operated USA Swimming Club team, located in the southeast part of the Denver metro area. The team began in 1999 and is arguably one of the best and most competitive swim teams in Colorado, winning numerous state, zone, sectional, national, World and Olympic titles. The team has approximately 150 swimmers that range in age from 6 through college and post-graduation. STARS swimmers aspire to reach their full potential in our program that offers not only top quality swim training, but a genuine concern for each athlete’s emotional and social development.

The Colorado STARS team has clearly defined training groups and a specific coach for each training group. Led by Head Coach, Todd Schimtz, the STARS coaching staff is highly professional, experienced and stable.
We primarily utilize the pools at Grandview High School, Smoky Hill High School, and the Hills at Piney Creek Community Pool during the short course season [fall, winter, spring] and Grandview High School, the Hills at Piney Creek, and Lowry pools during the long course season [late spring and summer]. Colorado STARS is a coach-run team based on the corporate model and is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation in the state of Colorado and is tax exempt. The Board is comprised of Head Coach, Todd Schmitz and other community members and employs an accountant and attorney to assist in the handling of business affairs.
