Tim Horan Assistant Coach
Tim began his swim career at the age of 5 at the public swim pool across the street from his house. Ironically, the coach that taught him to swim, also ended up being his College Coach at Shippensburg University. Tim swam for Shippensburg University and was a sprint freestyler. He received a degree in Finance and later a Master’s in Business Administration.
Tim began his coaching career in 2009, when both of his children, Katie and Tyler, began to swim competitively. Coach Tim brings a unique perspective to coaching in that he is the parent of two year round competitive swimmers. He taught both of his children how to swim and coached them until his family moved to SC. His daughter Katie is a NCAA qualifier and swims at the University of Tampa. In addition, Tim is an accomplished triathlete, having competed in dozens of triathlons. As an athlete and parent of a collegiate swimmer, Tim understands the commitment and demands of both the swimmer and their parents. Tim focuses on “Technique” when it comes to coaching and is very detail oriented. It’s all in the details!
