Jeffco's groups are progressive and build upon each other depending on ability and goals. There are requirements for admittance into groups.

10&U NOVICE

For swimmers 10yo and younger with little or no competitive experience. The swimmer must be able to swim in deep water without the aid of an instructor and should be able to perform back and free. The swimmer must be able to listen, learn and be respectful of the coach and teammates in a group environment. The group focus is to learn all four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly along with the appropriate turns and starts. These swimmers attend 10 and under, Suburban League and USA Swimming meets, but competition is not pushed at this level and up to the discretion of the coach, parent and swimmer.

Practice Fee: 2 practices/week $110 monthly or $440 trimester, Unlimited practices $130 monthly $507 trimester

10&U ADVANCED

For swimmers 10yo and younger who can perform back and free correctly and has basic knowledge of butterfly and breaststroke. Must be able to swim a 50 freestyle without stopping, with the aid of fins is allowed. The swimmer must be able to listen, learn and be respectful of the coach and teammates in a group environment. This group will continue to work on strokes, starts and turns as well as some endurance swimming.These swimmers attend 10 and under, Suburban League and USA Swimming meets, but competition is not pushed at this level and up to the discretion of the coach, parent and swimmer.

ADVANCED TRAINING GROUP
Swimmers 11yo and older but younger swimmers are not disqualified when evaluated by the coach. This is the recommended group for swimmers with proven commitment to swimming, stroke technique, skill mechanics and training ability. Swimmers should be able to count, compute distances and read more challenging intervals on the clock. These swimmers should be mentally prepared to compete in meets about once a month. Swimmers should execute appropriate and legal turns. The swimmer must be able to listen, learn and be respectful of the coach and teammates in a group environment and exhibit good sportsmanship. Basic knowledge and performance of all strokes is required as well as a maturity level to focus on swimming for increased periods of time. Setting and accomplishing practice and competition goals becomes increasingly important.
