DOLPHINS WEATHER CLOSURE POLICY

The PHINS follow FFC8 guidelines regarding inclement weather closures. 

Thunder/Lightning Storms

We follow 3 weather apps in this order: 

Required

1.         Weatherbug – if there are any lightning strikes within 10 miles, we MUST get out of the pool. We must remain out of the pool for 30 minutes after the last lightning strike within 10 miles. 

Assistance in Decision-making

2.         MyRadarPro – helps us track movement of storms coming and going to determine how long they may last, size of the storm, and direction it is traveling. 

3.         WeatherChannel – helps us track movement like MyRadarPro, as well as hour-by-hour predictions of probability of storm conditions. 

We make every effort to keep practicing; safely.  We will never unduly risk our children, families, or coaches.

We will do our best to make a determination by 5:00pm what we are doing that day.  The notice will be pushed from TeamUnify as a direct message from within TU, plus as a text, and as an email.  

Please, make sure all of your contact info is completely accurate and verified from within your membership portal, so you make sure you receive notice.

In the event of a cancellation, we will do our best to offer makeup practices/lessons. 

Please, always be kind.  We our coaches, not weather people.  We are told that if you don’t like the weather in Colorado, wait 15 minutes, it will change.  We will do our best to keep you informed and keep your kids swimming.
