Blue - Building Technique!

Swimmers progress from Orange to Blue where the focus remains on technique and skill development but with an increasing emphasis being  placed on aerobic and IM development.

Objective: Continue to develop strokes/skills/drills; begin aerobic swimming 

Structure: 30-40% Drills/Teaching; 20% Kicking;40-50% Aerobic/Swimming

Daily Volume: 2000-2500yds

General Skills: Streamlines; 3-5 dolphin kicks for butterfly, backstroke and freestyle; sculling; dolphin kick on back in streamline; breaststroke kicking     

*In Blue group swimmers develop an aerobic base. Two or three times a week, do an aerobic set lasting 30-40 minutes with minimal rest. Spend 1 hour per week on each stroke (improve learned skills/drills: learn new skills/drills. Swimmers should be able to compete in the 200's of the strokes, 500 Free, 200 IM
