William Amos Head Coach and Gold Group

I grew up in Rome, Georgia, a small city to the northwest of Atlanta. Other than a small program at the local YMCA, there were no swim teams in the area. It was through my high school swim team that I got my start in the sport. I swam for Darlington High School in Rome, and travelled to Atlanta and swam for Coach Pete Higgins on the Atlanta Swim Association. I was able to receive a partial swimming scholarship to Duke University, where I swam for two years, and became an ACC Conference finalist.

I took a year off from college and trained full time at Dynamo Swim Club in Atlanta, trying to qualify for the Olympic Trials. I came very close, but missed the cut by .09 seconds.

My coaching career began at Dynamo, working with 9-12 year olds while I was also training with their senior group. I then coached for two years as an Assistant Coach at my old high school.

After a 15 year career in printing, I was looking for a career change and hoped to have the chance to work with young people. I took a technical support position at Soaring Hawk Elementary here in Castle Rock and began to explore career options. I started working with Rock in 2005, and realized quickly that my desire to work with youth was a perfect fit with my passion for the sport of competitive swimming. I've been with Rock ever since.

Jocelyn Parker Asst. Coach - Afternoon Silver
Coach Joce started swimming at the young age of 4 for USA swimming back in 1993. Her father was the founder of WCAN swim team in Napa, California and was her coach for eleven years before switching swim teams to swim for Asher Green on the Napa Valley Swim team. There Coach Joce became a nationally known swimmer, having qualified for the 2008 Olympic Trials in the 100 free. She took her swimming ability all the way from Napa, California to Tallahassee, Florida where she competed in the 100, 200, and 500 freestyle. There she was able to tack on another Olympic Trials cut for her 200 free as well as become an ACC champion her first season with the Seminoles. After hanging up her compitition suit in 2011 she went into the world of coaching where she learned how much she truly loved swimming and found her passion. She worked with kids of all ages from 6 and unders to senior groups. She found that keeping the sport fun and ever changing was the best way to let kids learn how much they love chasing the black line. Through some success Coach Joce was able to help many athletes achieve and recognize thier dreams and abilities. Coach Joce hopes to help every child learn what it means to be a dedicated athlete and well rounded individual by learning to prefect the art and sport such as swimming.
