Greeting Sea Dog Nation!

Congrats on an outstanding LC Season.

Moving forward, the 2022-23 Short Course Season Registration will begin Monday, 8/22/2022 at 10:00am.

Practices for all groups, except preteam, will begin Wednesday, 8/31.

The team website will have the team roster for reference, be sure you are registering your swimmer in the correct training group.



  1. Registration for all practice groups opens on Monday, August 22 at 10:00AM
  2. Your swimmer must be an active YMCA member before you begin the registration process.
  3. There will be a deposit required at the point of registration that is the equivalent of 50% of your yearly program fees. Your subsequent monthly fees have been reduced accordingly.
  4. In addition to becoming a YMCA member & registering for the swim team through the Y, you must also register your child on this website(Step 3).
  5. Please note that all charges will likely appear on your credit card statement as coming from the YMCA, even if it comes through Team Unify.
  6. Please ensure that all registration is complete for your swimmer no later than Friday, September 9.
  7. Please read the following information thoroughly, and direct ALL questions regarding YMCA membership and swim team registration to [email protected] OR one of your coaches.



If your swimmer is a CURRENT and ACTIVE member of the SOUTHINGTON-CHESHIRE YMCA

If your swimmer is a FORMER or INACTIVE member of the SOUTHINGTON-CHESHIRE YMCA

  • Please provide your swimmers name and practice group.

If your swimmer has NEVER been a member of the SOUTHINGTON-CHESHIRE YMCA before:

  • Click this link to set up a new membership account: https://southington.recliquecore.com/login/
  • Once you’re there, click the purple section on the right that reads “I have NEVER been a member or participant and I want to create a NEW ACCOUNT”. 
  • Enter your email to continue, and then you will be able to sign up for a Y membership.

  • Make sure that your swimmer’s membership is active (see above).
  • Log in to the registration website: www.southington.recliquecore.com
  • Click this link to go to the swim team registration page: https://southington.recliquecore.com/programs/28/sea-dogs-swim-team/#division_404
  • Select the correct Practice Group for your swimmer.
    • If you are not 100% sure of your swimmer’s Practice Group, STOP HERE and email your coaches for confirmation.
  • Scroll down and click the box next to the word “Date(s)”. This will automatically select all dates below.
    • NOTE: that you must sign up for ALL months of the program to participate.
  • Double check to make sure all of the monthly boxes have a blue check.
  • Once you are sure that all months are checked, click the blue button that says “Register Selected”
    • Note: do NOT click the link that says “Register” – make sure you hit the blue button that says “Register Selected”
  • Ensure all of your swimmer’s Contact Information is correct and Click “Next”
  • Here, you will see a list of all YMCA swim team payments. The amount due today is located at the bottom of the column titled “Min Due Today”. It will also be listed below in the “Payment” section.
  • The remaining balance will be automatically billed on the 1st of each month. Please ensure that the box that says “Schedule Future Payments” has a blue check in it.
  • Click “Payment Method” and select your credit card on file.
  • Click the box that ensures all of your information is correct.
  • Click the blue box that says “Complete”

www.seadogswim.org  is the Swim Team Parent Association website and the one you will use the most often as a swim team parent. During this registration you will use it to choose your swimmer’s practice group and update all information as needed. You will also complete other information including:
  • Full Account and emergency contact information. Make sure to include the swimmer’s middle initial.
  • Medical and health insurance information.
  • Work obligations –please read carefully
  • Codes of conduct
  • Photo release
  • Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy
  • Attach a credit card to your account for splash fee purposes.
After providing/confirming the information above, you will need to pay your STPA fee (which is $100 for this season/swimmer -except PreTeam) & attaching a credit card to your account for splash fees.




Throughout the season your credit card will be charged for the splash fees owed. You must have a credit card attached to your account in order to be able to compete at meets. You can make additional payments at any time with the attached credit card. 


STPA (Swim Team Parents Association) fee

What do our STPA (Swim Team Parents Association) fees pay for?

The STPA registration fee is paid at the time the swimmer is registered, by all swimmers BUC I and up.  This STPA fee only covers a small fraction of the items paid for by the STPA on the swimmers’ and team’s behalf. The rest is generated by our CDOG-hosted meets.  Some of the expenses covered by the STPA are:

  • Travel expenses for coaches to away meets like Long Island, Condors, MIT and Nationals.
  • Team equipment purchases (coach laptops, fins, tempo trainers, kick boards and other training aids. touch pads, plungers, meet tech. and their maintenance,)
  • Numerous operational expenses (i.e. Website hosting and processing fees, printers and lots of toner, computer supplies, meet laptops, meet processing software (Hytek licensing), paper, and storage of all etc.)
  • Contribution to coaches’ salaries
  • USA Registration fees for our coaches and officials
  • Training expenses for our officials and referees
  • Educational programs for our swimmers
  • Meet Pool fees and team apparel
  • A new team shirt or cap for each new swimmer
  • Awards and banquet cost (Reduced admission cost for swimmers in BUC I and above)
  • Other team social events

The funding to pay for these expenses come from STPA Membership Fees, CDOG-hosted meet revenue, and a variety of fundraising programs administered the STPA Board. None of these expenses are covered by your program fees.

Splash Fees

Splash Fees pay for swimmers’ entry fees per meet. They are set by the host swim team and sometimes include a facility surcharge. Families must attach a credit card to their account (for spalsh fees) in order to be eligible to enter meets.  This will be as you progress through the seadogswim.org registration.


USA Swimming Membership

USA Swimming is completely changing the registration process.  All swimmers, except preteam, will be registered by their parents(unless they are 18 and older).  We will be providing more information regarding this in the future.
