Part-time Assistant Coach

Maintenance Person

The Ridgefield Aquatic Club has an opening for a part-time Maintenance Person.

The ideal candidate for this position organizes maintenance inventory and requests for supplies and parts as required; maintains restricted information of proprietary and ensures the safety of company assets; identifies guests with regard and adheres to quality standards and expectations, and provides and maintains an encouraging working relationship with guests and other hotel associates.

To be productive on the job, the maintenance person should possess the following qualities and qualifications:

  • Gives responses to all guests in an effective and prompt manner
  • Performs annual, quarterly, and monthly preventive maintenance activities
  • Attends to grounds throughout the year
  • Keeps all areas in a neat and orderly condition
  • Inspects public spaces on a daily basis in case of problems arising unexpectedly
  • Offers maintenance and repairs to guestrooms, public areas, and employee areas
  • Carries out consistent preventive maintenance programs on rooms and regularly updates records on files
  • Guarantees that projects are all promptly accomplished and in line with appropriate specifications
  • Works closely together with other hotel departments and management to discuss any aspect of operations pertinent to the maintenance department
  • Assesses requirements for completion of reports, or work orders as stated by standard procedures
  • Engages in flexible work schedules to be able to perform well during emergencies
  • General working knowledge of pool area maintenance
  • Pleasant demeanor with the ability to smile and handle clients with a high degree of tolerance, diplomacy, and tact
  • Commendable ability to manage stressful working situations
  • The ability to work independently and perform necessary repairs in a variety of building trades such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and structural repairs
  • Knowledge of air conditioning and basic electricity
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and guests
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Completes other tasks as assigned


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience in building maintenance trade-related occupations or equivalent

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must work inside and/or outside and includes being exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, and chemical hazards
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. Exerting up to 100 pounds force occasionally, and /or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders
  • Must be able to operate power tools effectively and safely
  • Must be able to do repeat lifting, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, stooping and/or crawling

Working Conditions:

  • Will be required to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Will be required to work in a fast paced changing environment, with minimal supervision
