Team Uniforms & Ordering Information

With any sports team, a uniform is required to play in games or participate in competitions. A uniform can be as simple as wearing the same t-shirt, or as complicated as having every person match right down to their socks. Why, as coaches, do we make these requirements? Because having a uniform can make or break that team and its ability to succeed.

Uniforms can foster a sense of unity. When you are all wearing the same cap or same suit, it can really make you feel like you belong to that group. When swimmers feel that sense of unity, you are more inclined to try your best for your team.

Uniforms can also help foster a sense of identity. We know that sports aren’t everything, but when you put on that uniform, you feel like you’re part of something larger than just yourself. You become more aware of the other members of your team, and your community.

Finally, team uniforms can bring about a feeling of equality. Every member of the team plays an important role in the team’s success. No one is better or worse than anyone else. You are all in this together, and you are all trying your best to compete!

These reasons, and many more, are why here on the Dolphins we do require all swimmers to wear a team suit and cap at all of our events. Anything additional you would like to purchase during the suit fitting is just an extra way for your swimmer to identify as a Dolphins teammate.

The suit fitting for the Fall/Winter 2019-20 Season will be in the racquetball court at the East Side Branch on September 24, 2019 from 5-7 pm.
