David Guthrie – David Guthrie swam for the Little Rock Dolphins, the DADS Club and Longhorn Aquatics. He was the Arkansas state champion in the 100 and 200 breast stroke. David swam in college for Hendrix College where he was Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference champion in the 100 and 200 breast. He was and NAIA and NSCA All American in 1980 and 1981. He was the first swimmer selected Southland Life / AIC Athlete of the Week. He was inducted into the Hendrix College Sport Hall of Honor in 1996. As a USS athlete, he was National Qualifier many times and the oldest male qualifier in 1995, 1996 and 1997. He was a 1982 World Championship Trials semi finalist. He was a member of the 1982 Olympic Festival team and an Olympic Trials qualifier. He has been a Masters National Champions 22 times. David has 13 Masters World Records in breast stroke and holds 10 US Masters National records. He has also been competing in triathlons where he has been champion in several including 1st place Overall in the RBS Chainwheel Spring Racing Series.
