Head Novice/8 & Under Age Group Coach
SWMKE is a coach owned team launched in the fall of 2016. The team is located on the southeast side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Bay View/St. Francis/Cudahy area).

SWMKE is seeking someone interested in the position of Head Novice/8 & Under Age Group Coach beginning on or before 12/1/20. It is an excellent opportunity to join a staff of an ever-growing competitive program/business and become a key individual in further development of a privately owned team. Coaching experience is not necessary but a background in competitive swimming or as a swim instructor is necessary.

This is an hourly position @ $15-25/hour depending on qualifications and experience. Approximately 4-6 hours a week. Private lesson time is available as an optional opportunity to increase income.

Head Coach
Green Bay YMCA Swim Team
Description

  • Develop and organize a plan for the session to meet the needs of the swimmers.
  • Lead and supervise practice groups to ensure team practices are following proper stroke progressions and curriculum created by the Director.
  • Create and implement swim workouts for all levels of swimmers.
  • Interact and assist swimmers with their technique by activity correcting form, recognizing individual differences and adjusting teaching strategies.
  • Hire and on-board coaching staff.
  • Interact and assist swim coaches to develop their skills in proper coaching strategies and techniques.
  • Assist with preparation and tear down of practice needs.  Instruct swimmers how to help and use the swim team equipment safely (lane ropes, backstroke flags, kick boards, blocks, etc.)
  • Instruct pre-team and preseason swim classes and clinics.
  • Coach at swim meets by directing warm-ups, team meetings, preparing and coaching swimmers pre- and post-races and feedback.
  • Work as part of a team with other coaches, the aquatic staff and the center staff.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents and swimmers, greeting all swimmers by name at all practices.  The Head Coach will make decisions based on collaboration with the Senior Aquatic Director.
  • Know and follow YMCA procedures for incidents and injuries.  Attend all assigned practices, communicating substitutions and following absence procedures.
  • Support fundraising activities.
  • Schedule coaches for practices and meets and complete administrative duties.
  • Organize and submit entries for meets and complete billing procedures.
  • Lead and organize parent committees to support team initiatives.
  • Assist in various roles on the association level (lifeguarding, swim lesson recruitment, water safety presentations, etc.).
  • Complete all other duties assigned by Senior Aquatic Director.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid certifications are required within the first 60 days of employment.
  • 1 year of swim coaching required; 5 years is preferred.
  • Competitive Swimming experience preferred.
  • Computer and/or Smart phone technology experience required.
  • Ability to organize, lead and work well with youth.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and evenings required.
  • USS Coaches Certifications AND YMCA Principles of Swim Coach Certification is required within the first 12 months.

Summary

The Swim Team Head Coach provides proper instruction and improvement on all fundamental competitive swimming skills.  As a lead coach, you are a role model for the other coaches to lead structured, challenging, well-supervised team practices and training sessions that will attract, recruit, and maintain swim team members.  Develop a strong coaching team building positive relationships in the sport of swimming!

Age Group Assistant Coach
Lake Country Swim Team, Hartland Wisconsin, is seeking an hourly assistant coach for our age group program.  Ideal candidate is enthusiastic, engaging, a strong communicator and team player.  Responsibilities will include assisting and substituting for lead coaches as needed with potential future assignment as group lead coach.  Pay and responsibilities are dependent on candidate’s experience and skills.  Hours range from 5-20/week.  Candidates must possess or be able to acquire USA Coaching Certification.  Start date is September 1.

Assistant Age Group Coaches
Rocket Aquatics (formerly Menomonee Falls Swim Club) is looking for energetic, reliable and motivated part-time coaches to work primarily with novice-age group swimmers. Primary responsibilities include assisting lead coach at our age group sessions 3-5 days a week and attending swim meets when necessary. Candidates must enjoy working with kids, have strong verbal communication skills and basic knowledge of competitive swimming.  This position is available immediately.

Rocket Aquatics age group program operates out of Menomonee Falls at the Menomonee Falls High School Pool. Hourly pay will be based on experience and is competitive to other area swim programs. This is a part-time position, 5-15 hours per week depending on personal availability. Candidate must have or be willing to obtain all USA Swimming coaching certifications within two months of hire (includes passing a background check before hire).

Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach

Reports to: Director of Athletics 
The Head Coach is responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective and competitive NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving program. Teaching will include instruction of the skills and strategies necessary for the student-athlete to become competitive and successful in this sport. This Head Coach is expected to teach and demonstrate the ability to promote the growth of student-athlete’s physical, intellectual and social behaviors. The Head Coach is responsible for directing all aspects of their assigned sport program. 

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and conduct all practices and game preparations
  • Manage all phases of the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs including coaching, recruiting, and public relations, and conducting camps/clinics in this sport
  • Support sport program, departmental, and institutional fundraising efforts
  • Follow all rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA Division III, CCIW (Collegiate Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), Carroll University, and Carroll University Athletics policies and procedures
  • Understand and comply with the NCAA Division III, the CCIW, Carroll University philosophy and mission
  • Act as a professional and positive representative of the Carroll University Educational Experience
  • Serve as teacher, counselor, and role model so that student athletes will improve upon their physical, intellectual, and social behaviors
  • Maximize the physical talent of the team through quality teaching/coaching of appropriate skills and strategies needed to be successful in that sport, and the promotion of teamwork
  • Maintain, manage and update equipment inventories

Strength and Conditioning Responsibilities

  • Implementation of standards and safety guidelines for Professional Strength and Conditioning Practice(s).

  • Implementation of emergency planning and response plan when needed in the weight room.
  • Works collaboratively with Human Performance coaches.
  • Serves as weight room monitor when supervising the weight room

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Previous progressive experience in coaching required
  • College level coaching and recruiting experience is highly desirable
  • Current certification requirements for this position (required)
  • Budgeting background preferred
  • Current valid Strength and Conditioning certification. 

Special Requirements:

  • Certification in first aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and I lifeguard training or equivalent
  • Must have valid motor vehicle license and be insurable under the University's insurance plan

  • Ability to recruit quality and retain quality student athletes

Bloomington Normal Swim Club (BNSC) is a year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor.

All of our coaches, as members of USA Swimming, have access to comprehensive training and certification programs. These memberships, training, and programs provide assurances that the time children spend in swimming will be quality time.

BNSC is a non-profit (501c3) club run by an Executive Board of Directors. All parents are automatically part of the Parent Booster Club which typically meets monthly. The Booster Club is designed to encourage parent involvement, assist in fundraising efforts and help with parent education. ​

BNSC Mission:

To build and maintain a highly successful community-centered competitive swim program using sound business, teaching, and training principles; while focusing on the importance of the athletes developing character, personal responsibility, and self-discipline in the pursuit of excellence in swimming and life.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate expectations timely and regularly with the coaching staff.
  • Organize and oversee all coaching staff assignments, responsibilities, development, and evaluations.

  • Assist in preparation of an annual operating budget with the treasurer and manage expenditures in accordance with approved budget.
  • Maintain the team website and social media presence.
  • Adhere to BNSC Travel & Expense policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to oversee the swim program and to achieve the club's mission.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for development of young athletes, at all skill levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal communications skills to work effectively with staff, swimmers, parents, Board members, vendors and the community.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills. Knowledge of Team Unify and the Hy-Tek software is a positive.
  • Understanding of the balance of training for distance and sprint, taper, and dry-land, for all age groups.
  • USA Swimming background check and USA Swimming certified coach.

Compensation: 

Salary compensation is commensurate with experience. Reimbursement is provided for education, certifications & meet expenses.
