The DACA Pre-Competitive program is for children ages 5-14. It is an introductory program designed to improve each student's basic stroke and turn technique in preparation for the DACA Competitive Team. DACA Pre-Competitive is an ongoing month-to-month program. Classes are held once per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 40 minutes at Westmont High School. Classes are also offered on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at De Anza College for students who are fully vaccinated. De Anza College requires all students on campus to be fully vaccinated. There will be a maximum of seven students in a class with multiple students per lane in compliance with safety standards. Students must be comfortable in deep water, able to swim 25 yards freestyle (with side breathing) and backstroke to qualify for the program. Students are assigned to a class level based on ability and age.
