Dale Petranech, long time Open Water swimmer and advocate and former member of the Middle Atlantic Board of Directors, passed away in June. “Meester Dale” - as Dale Petranech was known around the world by open water swimmers, coaches and administrators - was a pioneer in open water and marathon swimming. The USA Swimming Scholastic All America application is open on the USA Swimming website. This year the honor is open to 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders who have swum an individual pool time equal to a 2018 Winter Junior qualifying time in any individual event during the SAA qualifying period (August 16, 2018 – August 15, 2019) with qualifying times in SWIMS.  A qualifying time will be available for selection from the SWIMS database during the application process. Only ONE time is necessary and only ONE application is necessary and have a 3.5 grade point average or higher....

USA Swimming as issued new policies for interaction with minor athletes (MAAPPS).  As we are hoping you have all read the new policies, one of the biggest changes is that all 18 yr. old athletes must take the Athlete Protection Training on the USA Swimming website within 30 days of their 18th birthday.  Failure to comply with taking the training within 30 days of their birthday will result in an athlete's USA membership being suspended and not able to compete in USA competitions, both local and national.  Here is the...
