USA Swimming as issued new policies for interaction with minor athletes (MAAPPS).  As we are hoping you have all read the new policies, one of the biggest changes is that all 18 yr. old athletes must take the Athlete Protection Training on the USA Swimming website within 30 days of their 18th birthday.  Failure to comply with taking the training within 30 days of their birthday will result in an athlete's USA membership being suspended and not able to compete in USA competitions, both local and national.  Here is the direct link for the trainings

USA Swimming Member clubs are required to implement the USA Swimming Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP) in full by June 23, 2019. MAAPP contains five sections: one-on-one interactions, travel, social media and electronic communications, locker rooms and changing areas and massage, rubdowns and athletic training modalities. Please read the Policy and other education materials

In the coming weeks, Middle Atlantic Swimming will be distributing more information regarding the MAAPP policies and compliance, but, in the meantime, please feel free to contact Middle Atlantic swimming Safe Sport Chair Kathryn M. Scheuer with any questions
