FLEET FIRST Swim School

The Cypress-Fairbanks Swim Club (FLEET Swimming) was founded in 1975. During the next two decades, it became quite obvious that there was a strong need for us at FLEET to not only prepare swimmers for the competitive team but also to reach out to the community, promote water safety, and teach children a crucial skill - how to swim. Thus, the FLEET First Swim School was created in 1999.

FLEET First Swim School utilizes a custom swim lesson curriculum designed to promote water safety first and then transition seamlessly into proper basic stroke technique and finally introduction to competitive training.

The FLEET First coaching staff has been professionally prepared to offer your child the very latest in swim instruction. The curriculum we follow is goal-driven and technique-oriented. Our learn-to-swim program is based on five stations for our preschool swimmers (2-4 years) and school aged swimmers (5 to 12).  Swimmers will move to the higher skill levels as they achieve the advancement goals of their present level. Once they have mastered the skills necessary to complete our learn-to-swim program, students will have the option to move to our 45 minute pre-competitve classes designed to intoduce competive strokes, terminology, and drills for a smooth transition to our year-round competitive program.

By being technique-oriented, we are bringing more emphasis to teaching proper stroke mechanics from the very beginning. Our coaches will affirm correct swimming technique from the first lesson on.

We at FLEET First love what we do! Our swim school produces fine swimmers who are ready for competitive swim, or who are just prepared to be in water, wherever they may be.
