BRST Swimmers Ready for Junior Olympics Championships

Lisa Childers

Six swimmers will represent BRST at this weekend’s Junior Olympic Championships. More than 600 swimmers and 40 teams are entered in the meet, which will be held at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex.

Among BRST’s top-seeded swimmers are:

Mayah Chouloute (10) will swim seven events and is seeded in the Top 10 in the 50 Butterfly, 50 Breastroke and the 50 and 100 Freestyle. Jack Morrison (10) and Lauren Meyer (10) will each swim five events in what will be their first JO’s. Quinn Gehring (12) will swim the 50 Backstroke, Cassandra Genz (13) has qualified in two events and Marcus Johnson (13) has a busy weekend with six events.

“This will be the most exciting JO’s for me as a coach “said Age Group Coach Katie Dodge. “ Not only do we have returning JO qualifiers, but we also have two swimmers competing in their first JO’s, Lauren Meyer and Jack Morrison. The kids are seeded well and will have very fast competition to push them towards best times. The hard work is done and now we can just have fun and race”
