Tsunamis Swim Team offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Tsunamis to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities and reaching their desired goals.

Yellow Group

This is our entry level group. 

Swimmer must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted and knows the basics of all 4 strokes. This groups main focus is to build endurance and start to promote proper technique. Swimmers will build knowledge of all 4 competitive strokes as well as into to diving.

Swimmers will attend meets.

Workout Days/Times:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday. 4:30pm - 5:30pm

Minimum age: 4

White Group

From the yellow group, swimmers move into this group. Athletes in this group will have a heavy focus on technique. They will have fun while learning starts, turns, dives and begin learning how to swim fast!

Swimmers will have 1 dry land practice a week to begin learning the basics of land workouts.

Workout Days/Times:

Monday, Wednesday. 5:30pm - 6:45pm (Swim)

Friday. 5:00pm - 6:15pm (Dryland)

Minimum age: 6

Blue Group

From the white group, swimmers move into this group. This group is exposed to speed work and using a pace clock for interval training. At this level, the swimmer is proficient in all 4 strokes, although technique is still a high priority. They will be attending meets on a more frequent basis.

Monday. 5:00pm-6:30 (Dryland AND swim)

Tuesday, Wednesday. 5:00pm-6:15 (Swim Only)

Friday. 5:00pm - 6:15pm (Dryland Only)

Minimum age: 8

 

Green Group

Swimmers entering this group have a good level of swim experience and must display a desire to begin training on a more committed level. Training and speed work takes precedence. They will be training for qualifying times at higher level meets. This group will have dry land workouts incorporated multiple times a week and will begin to learn about nutrition.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. 5:00pm - 6:30pm (Dryland AND Swim)

Friday. 5:00pm-6:30pm (Swim Only)

Saturday. 6:45am-8:00am (Swim Only)

Minimum age: 10

 

Senior

Swimmers in this group must display a strong desire to perform at the highest level they are capable of with the highest level of commitment. Training is geared towards individual talents, although a strong aerobic endurance factor is present. This group also has a strong understanding of nutrition how to properly take care of themselves to get the most out of their training.

This group has added dry land almost and/or gym workouts, almost daily.

Monday, Tues, Thursday. 5:00pm - 7:30pm (Dryland AND Swim)

Friday 5:00pm - 7:00pm (Swim Only)

Saturday. 6:45am - 8:45am (Swim Only)

Minimum age: 14
