Tsunamis Swim Team offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Tsunamis to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities and reaching their desired goals.

Yellow Group

This is our entry level group. 

Swimmer must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted and knows the basics of all 4 strokes. This groups main focus is to build endurance and start to promote proper technique.

Swimmers will attend meets.

Workout Days/Times: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday. 5:15pm - 6:15pm

Minimum age: 4

White Group

From the yellow group, swimmers move into this group. Athletes in this group will have a heavy focus on technique to build four legal competitive strokes. They will have fun while learning starts, turns, and dives. 

Workout Days/Times: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday. 5:15pm - 6:15pm

Minimum age: 4

Blue Group

From the white group, swimmers move into this group. This group is exposed to speed work, with intervals, for the first time while learning to understand a pace clock. At this level the swimmer is proficient in all 4 strokes, although technique is still a high priority.

Swimmers will have 1 dry land practice once a week to begin learning the basics of land workouts. 

Workout Days/Times: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. 5:30pm - 6:45pm

Minimum age: 8

Green Group

Swimmers entering this group have a good level of swim experience and must display a desire to begin training on a more committed level. Swimmers in this group will either move from blue or from senior 1, depending on their age and/or ability combined with commitment level. Training and speed work takes precedence over technique work for the first time. They will be training for qualifying times at higher level mets. This group will have dry land worlouts incoorporated multiple times a week and will begin to learn about nutritian. 

Workout Days/Times: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. 5:45pm - 8:00pm (there may be added Saturday practices)

Minumum age: 10 ( with possible exception for advanced 9 year olds)

Senior 1

This group is for the swimmer who is on a high school team and would like to improve or has goals of making their high school team. Many of the swimmers in this group started training at later age.Therefore this group has a heavy focus on technique along with intro to speed work. They will have light dry land work, that is age appropriate, to build the needed muscle in order begin competing at a higher level. They will also be introduced to proper nutrition and recovery. 

Workout Days/Times: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. 5:45pm - 7:30pm

Minimum age: 13

Senior 2

Swimmers in this group must display a strong desire to perform at the highest level they are capable of with the highest level of commitment. Training is geared towards individual talents, although a strong aerobic endurance factor is present. This group also has a strong understanding of nutritan how to properly takecare of themselves to get the most out of their trainig.

This group has added dry land almost and/or gym workouts, almost daily.

Workout Days/Times: Monday - Thursday 5:45pm - 8:00pm. Friday 5:45pm - 8:30pm. Saturday (atleast 2 a month) 7:00am - 9:00am.

Since many of the swimmers in this group compete for their high school team, practice times are sometimes adjusted to allow them to participate in both programs.
