The NISCA All-American list is comprised of the top 100 varisty athletes in each event competed in the high school lineup. Athletes must be at least in 9th grade with times submitted from their scholastic team. Sara Lin of Pine Crest Swimming was recently selected to USA Swimming’s 14th Annual National Diversity Select Camp, to be held May 7-10 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She will be one of 48 swimmers from around the country selected to participate. The purpose of the camp is to instill a vision of success and inspire athletes from ethnically under-represented populations to become leaders in the sport of swimming. USA Swimming recently announced its 2019 18 & Under World 100 list. This complete world ranking consists of the top 100 18&U swimmers in each event across the globe. 299 men and 338 women from the United States qualified for the list. Pine Crest Swimming has achieved Bronze Medal status for the 2020 Club Excellence Program by USA Swimming. This program identifies the best clubs in the country, with the top 200 recognized as Gold (top 20), Silver (top 100) and Bronze (top 200). Each team’s ranking is based on the FINA Points Table, a power point rating system that assigns point values to the individual swimming performances based on Gold, Silver, or Bronze time standard. Pine Crest Swimming was represented at the 2019 USA Swimming Winter Junior National Championship from Dec. 11th-14th. This is the fastest 18 and Under short course yards meet in the country, with the best swimmers competing at the national level. This past weekend, Pine Crest Swimming competed at the 29th Annual Speedo Winter Championships. Many of the fastest swimmers in South Florida and out of state come to Plantation to compete against each other in the last meet of the year. The Pine Crest Swimming and Diving teams came out on top this past Friday at the FHSAA 2A State Championship. Both the Girls and Boys teamed earned their first state championship in close to 30 years. Women scored a total of 448, the highest total in 2A history, and the men scored 296, over 100 points ahead of runner-up Montverde. This past week, Pine Crest Swimming alumni Racine Ross was selected for the NCAA Division III Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, March 20-23 in Greensboro, NC. Representing Kenyon College in her freshman year, Racine will compete in the 50 freestyle, 100 butterfly, and 200 butterfly. Racine posted a best time in this season in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.93, earning her a ticket to the NCAA Championships.
