Lady Panthers 1st, Boys 3rd at 55th annual Woodson Invitational

This past Saturday, the Varsity Pine Crest Panthers hosted 13 teams at the 55th annual Woodson Invitational. The Woodson is the oldest high school swimming invite in the country. The Lady Panthers took the overall win by over 130 points, with the boys placing 3rd behind The Bolles School and St. Andrews.

A total of 8 meet records were set, with 4 of them coming from Pine Crest:

Girls 200 Medley relay – Julia Podkoscielny, Sara Lin, Esther Lin, Hanna Elks Smith

Girls 200 Individual Medley – Andrea Santander

Girls 200 Freestyle Relay – Andrea Santander, Rachel Botting, Hanna Elks Smith, Alexandra Meszaros

Girls 400 Freestyle Relay – Alexandra Meszaros, Rachel Botting, Julia Podkoscielny, Andrea Santander

Andrea Santander also won the Ann Marshall award, given to the top performing female at the Woodson. Her performance was highlighted by breaking the Pine Crest team record in the 200 Individual Medley. The old record stood for 25 years from 1993.
