Summir Case Head Coach

Summir enjoys sharing her love and passion for the sport of swimming by coaching for over 10 years. She started coaching in California during her 5th year at Fresno State as a student coach, then with club swimming at Golden West Swim Club in Huntington Beach, California. She has continued in Oregon with the Chehalem Swim Team in Newberg from 2011-2016 and joined the FGSC coaching staff in 2016. She is an ASCA Level 2 coach and is lifeguard certified.

As an athlete, Summir spent 9 years competitively swimming that included racing at Junior Nationals, Senior Nationals, and Olympic Trials, as well as 4 years collegiately representing Fresno State at the NCAA Division 1 level.

For fun she has competed in 1/2 and full marathons, sprint and olympic triathlons, and marathon swimming events including Riverfest 2010, an 11+ mile swim in the Willamette River starting at Oregon City and finishing at the waterfront park in downtown Portland.

Grew up California AAU year round competitive swimming. Had a first career in early childhood development and child advocacy. Started swim coaching 2010. Level 2 ASCA coach. Oregon Swimming age group coach of the year in 2016-2017 season. Coached for several swim teams, mostly working with ages 12 and under. Have two adult kids that live in the northwest. Hobbies include her pets and refinishing and refurbishing old furniture & miniatures.
