Good morning from the Orlando International Airport! I will be representing Florida Swimming at the USA Swimming convention this week, in California.  I am excited for the opportunity to learn more about the best sport!  I will be taking lots of classes, and attending lots of meetings, but I will have some time to answer your emails. I will also be putting together the 2014 t-shirts and silicone caps that came with registration (they are almost in).  If your swimmer is attending the Bolles meet on Sunday, the 15th, Coach...

Videotaping/filming of swim practices is not allowed at NFS.  This is necessary for privacy, safety and protection. We respect the privacy of our Swimmers and Coaches (and do not want them to be filmed without consent), filming may provide a visual distraction, and we also do not wish to share our practice "intellectual property".  If for some reason you wish to film your swimmer, please approach a Coach for permission first. Or inquire about incorporating video analysis as part of a private lesson. Remember, there is an opportunity to film at...

To help everyone learn the ins and outs of being a good parent participant of our fine team, we thought we'd put together a bit of a parent primer for your enjoyment and edification.  The absolute best thing you can learn to do as a parent is:  communicate.   Happy about something?  Tell us.  Confused about something?  Ask us.  Concerned about something?  Discuss it with us.  Communication is the key to a successful and enjoyable experience for everyone.  Remember, we are all in...

Coaches Proud of Area 1 Performances! NFS Coach Reports from the Area 1 Championship meet show major improvements by NFS Swimmers of all ages! Senior swimmers had impressive time drops and breakthroughs in how to swim races:  It can sometimes be difficult as a teen to drop your 50 time, but Lawson Bowes swam his best 50 ever at the meet! He also dropped time in his 100 Fly, and accomplished a feat that made his coaches supremely proud – he breathed every other stroke! Ashley Bucher did her best time...

Hello Swimmers! In your races, do you sometimes drop time?  Do you sometimes add time?   Sometimes, do you stay around the same time?  Guess what?  You're perfectly NORMAL!  Read more about it by CLICKING THIS LINK in our inaugural feature known as "A Conversation with Coach Mel".
