Practice Groups and Fees


Year Round Swim Team Practice Groups and  Fees       

Age Group I   
This is our entry level group. Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly without stopping and without assistance to try out for this group. Athletes will learn all four competitive strokes and work on stroke, start, and turn techniques. Practices are offered three times a week.
 
Age Group II   
Athletes in this group are usually at least 10 years old. This group is exposed to training longer with more yardage while still working on technique. Dry land training is introduced at this level and competition at meets in encouraged. Practices are offered six times a week and swimmers are encouraged to attend at least four. 
 
Age Group III / Seniors  
Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis and competing regularly. Training continues to emphasize stroke technique while developing and maintaining stronger aerobic endurance. Practices are offered six times a week and swimmers are encouraged to attend at least five.

 

 Age Group I                 $85.00 monthly 

Age Group II/III             $100.00 monthly*

Age Group III/Seniors  $110.00 monthly*

 

*Additional swimmers in the same house will be charged $90 regardless of Age Group.

Age Group I will be increased to $90 when location is able to offer practices 4 to 5 times a week.

 

2021 USA Swim Program        $85 annually (required for all Age Group II, III, Seniors swimmers)

$20 USA Swimming Flex membership is an option for Age Group I and Developmental.

 

Meet Fees                               $25.00 additional per family for meets requiring overnight stays.     

 

Non-resident Pool Fee:   $100.00 annually (required if family is residing outside of Palencia).                           

  • No team suit required.
  • Recommend goggles for swimmers and one piece suit for girls.

Summer Schedule- Starting June 14th

Summer Developmental: 10 AM - 11 AM Tuesday and Thursday

Age Group 1: 10 AM - 11 AM  Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Age Group 2/3/Seniors: 6:30 AM - 8:30 AM Monday through Friday

9 AM - 11:30 AM on Saturday

Seniors Only: 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM Tuesday and Thursday

3:30 - 4:30 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays


Age Group 2:

4:30 - 6:00 PM on Monday through Friday
9:00 - 10:30 AM on Saturdays

4:30 - 6:30 PM on Monday - Friday (weekdays)

Palencia Developmental Program

The St. Augustine Cyclones are offering a developmental swimming program at Palencia.   This is a pre-competitive program which emphasizes stroke instruction and learning the basic skills needed in order to become a competitive swimmer.  The program's focus is on proper stroke technique, starts, turns, finishes, and stretching. Swimmers, 5 -12 yrs. old, are required to be able to swim, unassisted by lane line or edge of the pool, one lap any style the length of the pool.

Summer Program starts June 15th

Practice Times:

Ages 5 - 12 years old: Tuesday and Thursday  10 AM - 11 AM.

Practices are held at the Palencia Sweetwater pool - 1865 North Loop Parkway, St. Augustine, FL 32095

Cost: $150 with current USA Swimming membership.

Sibling discount: 2nd child -$120, 3rd child - $90, 4th child - $60

USA Swimming Flex membership 2020 fee: $20.00 **

The USA Swimming Flex membership does not expire until end of 2021 and allows for 2 USA meets.  The fee can also be put towards at full USA Swimming premium membership, if swimmers wishes to participate in more USA meets

Non-resident fee per family: $20. 

This fee needs to be selected if your home is outside of Palencia's CDDs (Marshall Creek and Sweetwater).

 

Registration includes team t-shirt and team swim cap
