SPA Conquers Hurricane Man Open Water Swim

With the weather almost perfect, the Hurricane Man Open Water event co-sponsored by St. Petersburg Aquatics and St. Pete Masters went off without a hitch.  Congratulationsto  SPA team member, Markos Garcia that was the overall USA 1000 meter swim winner that went home with the first place towel award!  Kudos to the rest of the group on the following finishes in the 1000 Meter event:

Christian Guettler (10 & Under) - 2nd place

Alicia Bruno (13-14) - 2nd place

Kai Preble (13-14) - 1st place

Abagail Hughes (15-16) - 1st place

Madison Burke (17+) - 1st place

In the 2.4 mile event, these SPA swimmers went home with a rubber ducky award as well:

Robert Melson (13-14) - 2nd place

15-16 Age group:

Sean Doolittle - 1st place

Alexi Lambridis - 2nd place

Dominic Ghizzoni - 3rd place

Kiya Sams (15-16) - 2nd place

Proceeds from this event benefit the inner city pool program that St. Petersburg Aquatics sponsors for our summer league program, so lots of fun for a great cause!
