The crazy, covid, social distancing, mask-wearing 2020 High School season drew to a close on November 15th and St. Petersburg Aquatics is proud to recognize our many participants in the FHSAA Swimming and Diving Finals. The meets took place over two weekends with 3A and 4A competing on the first weekend of the State Series and 1A and 2A competing on the second weekend. The Covid-19 pandemic forced USA Swimming to scatter the Toyota US Open Championships among nine (9) sites across the country, November 12th -14th . SPA swimmers competed at two of those sites, Des Moines, Iowa and Sarasota, Florida. Peyton Palsha, a senior at the University f Arkansas, competed at Des Moines in the 400m, 800m, and 1500m Freestyles and the 400 Individual Medley. St. Petersburg Aquatics Swim School has been given permission to resume lessons on September 1st. The program is temporarily relocating to the McLin Pool, 602 - 14th Street South with Coach Autumn conducting lessons as she has in the past. We have openings in our Beginner and Intermediate classes and are looking for additional participants aged 2-5 years old. In less than 300 days, the best swimmers in the country will meet in Omaha, Nebraska for the biggest event for many US swimmers – the United States Olympic Team Trials - Swimming. Saint Petersburg Aquatics commends and thanks Mayor Rick Kriesman on his leadership during the Corona Virus Crisis. Monday May 4th at 5:00am North Shore Pool will reopen.
