Greater Naples YMCA 24 Hour Relay

Thomas Yetter
We wanted to let you know about an important swimming related event that is coming up in Collier County.  The YMCA is raising money to refurbish the Greater Naples YMCA Main Campus Pool by holding a twenty four  (24) hour relay in the pool  from 9am on April 302021 to 9am on May 1, 2021.  The YMCA is looking for swimmers to participate in the relay and to help with fundraising for this important pool in our community.  T2 is supporting the YMCA’s effort to refurbish the pool.

The Greater Naples YMCA pool has served the Greater Naples community well and has been the place where countless people have learned to swim, played and splashed during summer camp, learned scuba diving, exercised, competed in club or high school swimming and diving meets, or been trained as a lifeguard.  Established in 1969, it was one of the first community pools in Naples it is a legendary landmark.  Most locals have probably been in or around the pool at one time or another during their lives.

It's time for a major refurbishment of the pool to restore this aging beauty to its pristine blue condition so that she can continue to serve the community for many years to come.

To kick off the YMCA's fundraising campaign the YMCA is hosting an all night twenty-four hour swimming relay in the pool  beginning at 9am on April 30 and  ending at 9am on  May 1.  Swimmers can sign up for a relay time slot using this link:    https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080e4ca9ac22a2ff2-ymca   T2 Aquatics will be scheduling athletes to participate during a portion of this relay on Friday April 30th from 4:00-6:00 PM.

Many hands make light work and we ask that anybody whose life has been touched or benefited in some way through contact with the pool give back what they can.  Please share this page and our effort with your family and friends so that we can reach our goal.  Having as many well equipped competition pools in the county benefits everyone in the swimming community and the community at large.

Thank you.
