What Is Masters Swimming?

T2 Masters is for adults ages 18 and up!

At all practices, all levels of swimming are welcome and present. We have all ability levels from swimmers that are new to the sport, to fitness swimmers, to competitive triathlete and masters swimmers.

At T2 we are interested in helping you achieve your goals, whatever they may be. The coaching staff wants to take the time to help you learn how to swim with proper technique to prevent injury and increase speed and endurance.

We offer several coached practices a week in the morning on M, W, F, Sat.  There are athletes with many different goals and ability levels.  Our staff can help you raise the level of your performance no matter where you are starting.

Masters Swim Meets:

  • Masters swim meets are a lot of fun!  They are a great way to really get to know the other masters swimmers and offer a chance to do some racing and then go out for a bite to eat afterwards if you want to!  There are several meet options throughout the year for the T2 Masters Swimmers.  Sometimes the Masters swimmers are focusing on open water racing while others focus on Triathlons.  Whatever your needs are - or if you are just a beginner or just like to swim for exercise, we can offer a great training situation.
  • There are many Masters Swimming Competitions in the Florida Area.  You can find meet dates, information and results for both pool and open water competitions at www.dixiezone.org

Equipment:

  • We sell goggles and caps in a vending machine in the Norris Pool lobby.
  • Other equipment is optional, but most Masters swimmers like to have Fins and Paddles.  The “Finis Floating Fin” is a great Masters fin but you are welcome to use any fin you are comfortable with.  There are many different types of paddles.  Our T2 Senior athletes enjoy the “Strokemaker” paddles as they are a great general paddle but you are welcome to use any paddle you are comfortable with.

There are kickboards and pull buoys at the Norris Pool available for use, but many Masters swimmers have their own as well.
